Meet Druva: Sandeep Ghadge

Ashton Sukenic

For this month’s employee spotlight, we spoke with Sandeep Ghadge, Senior Product Manager of Druva.

Sandeep, please share your story with us. How did your journey at Druva. begin?

I started at Druva close to one year back. Prior to that, I was working at Veritas for a long time. In fact, Veritas was my first job where I began my career in engineering, then eventually transferred over to product management. I have always wanted to be in product management, so that switch was exciting to me.

At the time, I truly thought I was at the right place. But overall, I ultimately realized that I was looking for something more challenging. Luckily, Druva was able to provide me with that opportunity and challenge I was looking for. Druva allowed me to expand my knowledge, while being involved with new and modern technologies to come.

What is your official title, and what does your day-to-day schedule typically look like?

My official title is Senior Product Manager. In terms of my day-to-day-schedule, I act as the middle-man between customers, engineering, and user experience. I also create roadmaps for products, features, and the future for Druva.

What’s your favorite Druva perk?

The best thing about Druva is that you are able to discuss and collaborate with senior level executives. Everyday, I get to talk with Jaspreet, our CEO, and see what he is thinking about, as well as being able to understand his vision for Druva. I think that is pretty incredible.

Alright, if you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ah, l would listen to “Summer of 69,” by Bryan Adams. I know it’s a bit more old school but I enjoy it!

Good choice, Sandeep! But here’s a really tough question, what side of the PC or Mac debate are you on?

I definitely prefer Mac. Being a product manager, it’s really about being able to give everything a customer is looking for, and Windows just doesn’t have the same fluidity and experience that Mac provides!

Fair enough! Lastly Sandeep, tell us one thing not many know about you.

I have a vintage british motorcycle: a Royal Enfield, which I have taken on numerous road trips across India. I have travelled through 20 of the 29 Indian states and one neighbouring country, Bhutan. I have even been to the Himalayas! Some of my most memorable destinations have included Leh Ladakh, Rann of Kutch, Kaziranga, the Seven Sister States, Pondicherry, Kodaikanal, Kozhikode, and the Waga Border.

My travels have also spurred a unique alcohol collection of sorts, as I enjoy discovering local-made liquors from the place I am visiting. Most can only be consumed fresh, but they are fun to keep as memories of the trips.

When I am not travelling, you can find me participating in marathons, mostly half marathons nowadays. When I am visiting new places, I enjoy finding scenic trails for my morning runs. One of the most enjoyable trails I have come across was the Carmel Valley trail during Druva CAB 2018.

Awesome! Thank you, Sandeep for chatting with us!
