Meeting Our Customers’ Needs with New inSync Features

This week we are excited to announce the latest release of inSync, which brings some notable enhancements to the inSync platform that will help our customers even better manage their large volumes of endpoint data.

As we continue to innovate in data protection and governance, enabling companies to gain greater visibility, control and utility from their endpoint data is central to our vision. We increasingly hear from our customers about how they struggle with the risks of critical business data moving to the edge, becoming more decentralized from core information repositories, and the increasing need to protect and manage that data more effectively. As we see this trend continuing, providing capabilities to extend the reach and visibility of IT to end-user data, without impacting end-user productivity, is fundamental to our approach and a key component of this release.

Two significant enhancements to inSync include:

eDiscovery Enablement: Any IT department that has had to work through data collection for eDiscovery has felt the frustration and endured the time-consuming process of gathering end-user data. To overcome the significant hurdles posed in identifying, collecting, and preserving this data, inSync is the first endpoint governance platform that provides legal hold workflows for enabling legal administrators to preserve custodian data in-place and then transfer it to an eDiscovery platform without the need for intermediary storage – a process that’s also invisible to end-users. By removing multiple steps in the identification and collection phase, companies can now have greater confidence that data integrity is maintained through the legal hold process.

CloudCache: Companies with a significant numbers of endpoints being managed know the restrictive bandwidth challenges of the WAN, especially when moving large volumes of data during peak usage times, or dealing with remote offices with employees on bandwidth-constrained networks. With the introduction of CloudCache, our public cloud based customers can now utilize an on-premise caching server that can be mapped to user groups and configured to optimize throughput on the LAN while it communicates back and forth across the WAN with the inSync cloud service. As a software appliance, CloudCache maximizes network performance especially when organizations are doing first-time backups, OS migrations and device refreshes, or moving large volumes of data into an eDiscovery platform. Regardless whether users are on the LAN or the WAN, CloudCache is transparent, backups and restores occur seamlessly regardless of their locations, and they receive all the benefits of inSync’s efficient global deduplication system.
