Educational institutions are faced with unique challenges when it comes to protecting sensitive data, as faculty and staff frequently access their data from multiple devices. Whether it’s proprietary research, course materials, administrative files, or healthcare records, IT is tasked with ensuring that data is protected from loss and breach. inSync protects sensitive mobile data and provides users with secure, anywhere access and sharing on any device.
“With inSync I can just walk in, administer backups based on the centralized administration and reporting system and walk out.”

Safeguard sensitive data from loss or exposure
The distributed nature of campuses and extensive mobility of faculty and staff makes protecting data when devices are lost, stolen or damaged complicated. Druva inSync’s high-performance backup ensures that data is protected wherever and whenever users are working. Integrated data loss prevention features, including device encryption, geo-location and remote wipe, mean that you don’t have to worry about data leakage when devices go missing.
Provide secure anytime, anywhere data access and sharing
Whether working on research or developing and presenting materials, faculty and researchers need to have constant data access across devices and the ability to share information internally and externally. With inSync, users have easy-to-use, secure file sync and share that enhances collaboration and productivity, while IT retains visibility and control over how users are accessing and sharing their files.
Complete data privacy on-premise or in the cloud
When it comes to sensitive data like intellectual property, research data, and student records, data privacy is a top priority. Unlike other converged data protection solutions, inSync uses split-key encryption to ensure that only you can decrypt your data. Nobody besides you — not even Druva under court order — can access the encryption key.
Easily manage across distributed departments
To enable you to manage many users across multiple departments, inSync provides centralized administration with granular policy controls. Global policies let you configure all aspects of data backup, access, and sharing for groups of similar users, and tamper-proof audit trails let you see exactly how users are accessing and sharing their data. With user self-service options, you can let users self-deploy the inSync client and mobile apps to meet their needs and reduce the burden on your IT team.
Educational institutions using Druva:
Druva Product Accessibility Program
Druva is committed to making its products accessible to all individuals. Today, this includes making the inSync Client navigable using the keyboard and adding support for assistive technology like screen readers.
Beginning with inSync Client v6.1.0, Druva follows the internationally recognized standards in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 to the extent possible.
Druva tested assistive technologies to evaluate inSync’s conformance to the accessibility standards and has documented the accessibility status in a detailed report using the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) . This is a self-disclosing document which evaluates how accessible a particular product is according to the Section 508 Standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
For a detailed report please contact Druva support and ask for the VPAT report for the inSync Client.
