As I’ve witnessed firsthand in my time as CFO of Okta, the agility, innovation, and cost effectiveness of SaaS-based approaches simply cannot be matched by legacy models. For these reasons and more, I’m excited to be joining the Druva family as it redefines data protection and management for the cloud era.
Data protection represents an ideal use case for cloud, given its variable workloads, yet “always on” demand, and Druva has defined a new, novel approach that is unrivaled by its competition.
Jaspreet and Druva’s leadership team recognized early on that cloud could be transformational businesses, and now stand alone as the only 100 percent SaaS-based solution in the category. The team has leveraged the power of the cloud to help enterprises securely store business sensitive information, eliminate unnecessary complexity, and accelerate growth by turning their data into a key asset. Moreover, all of this is accomplished through a simple, reliable and autonomous cloud-based platform.
When talking about data protection, the most important value to any organization is having a reliable and secure solution. If organizations lose access to data, they are at risk of losing revenue from lost sales, losing customers if an outage goes on too long, or even losing the business if data can never be retrieved. Being able to quickly access data, unify backup, and protect against ransomware and disaster recovery are all key elements of a successful backup solution. Not to mention that most companies have struggled to find a backup solution that meets their needs, but that also fits within their budget constraints.
As CFO, it is imperative to have constant access to data — the lifeblood of the business — and Druva enables that access with a flexible, cost-efficient solution, which provides the best cost of ownership. As more organizations look to the cloud, Druva is the natural choice to help them along this journey.
By rejecting traditional models and offering a data protection solution as-a-Service, Druva opens up data protection and management to a wide group of businesses who previously could not invest the capital necessary for an on-premises solution. I’ve witnessed the impact of the cloud and its potential to transform business first-hand at Okta, and I believe Druva represents the future of data management. Jaspreet and his team have a clear vision and strategy to disrupt an industry reliant on a legacy hardware model. I have no doubt they are positioned for success — the team is talented, motivated, innovative, and passionate. They are developing a technology not available anywhere else, and I am humbled to be part of the Druva family as we deliver data protection for the cloud era.
