On SOCK(net): Valuable Life Lessons From The IT Trenches

Oops! That was the theme of this crowdsourced question at Druva’s ILLUMINATE 2015 conference, where we learned from the missteps of those in the IT trenches. In order to gain from the talent and experience of speakers and attendees alike, we asked the question “What one thing in your professional career would you never ever do again?” The valuable life lessons and comical anecdotes shared are captured in this podcast.

In this episode of the SOCK(net) podcast, Yadin and Tony hang out at the Genius Bar where attendees of Druva’s first user conference, ILLUMINATE15, come to get their technical questions answered by Druva inSync and Phoenix experts. During these visits, they pull a couple of the people aside to capture some very interesting and enlightening anecdotes straight from the IT trenches.

Among the issues discussed:

  • How to make sure you don’t shoot yourself in the foot when deploying a new application
  • What to look for when you take the IT reigns at a new organization
  • Avoid some BYOD pitfalls when deploying policies at scale
