AWS re:Invent Recap Day 3

We started AWS re:Invent 2018 with the energy and enthusiasm for all things cloud, and now on day 3, it certainly hasn’t let down!

Yesterday morning, VMware’s Ken Smith, from the product marketing team, stopped by and presented at our booth. Ken described how the industry’s two leaders in private and public cloud, VMware and AWS, jointly engineered a cloud solution that marries VMware SDDC (software-defined datacenter) with AWS bare metal. With VMware cloud on AWS, customers can run production applications on VMware compute, storage, and network virtualization resources on AWS services. More importantly, Ken talked about why companies need Druva cloud data protection to ensure business continuity for VMware cloud on AWS. As the industry’s only VMware cloud certified Software-as-a-Service backup solution, Druva Phoenix provides workload mobility and fast recovery for both on-premises and cloud workloads. Our integration allows on-premises server failures to be instantly spun-up in AWS or restored in minutes to the VMware Cloud. Interested? Try Druva Phoenix at the VMware Solution Exchange!

But wait, there’s more! Our valued technology partners, AWS and Nutanix, stopped by earlier today and discussed some important topics.

Tres Vance, Senior Solutions Architect at AWS discussed how AWS has revolutionized storage. By unlocking storage from on-premises and migrating it to the cloud, AWS has provided a low-cost, highly-scalable virtual alternative to storage with pay-as-you-go pricing. Best of all, with a data lake in the centralized cloud, companies can unlock insights from all their disparate data with analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Tres also talked about how Druva, a Top 5 AWS Storage partner, has fundamentally changed the secondary storage and backup industry with our as-a-service model. Finally, Tommy Gustaveson, Technology Alliance Manager at Nutanix, discussed how the cloud is a natural extension of hyperconvergence and the critical role Druva played in protecting Nutanix workloads (AHV, AFS) in the cloud. Last year, Druva became a certified Nutanix ready partner; together, our joint solution simplified the data center for IT administrators, providing centralized information governance and better RAS (resiliency, availability, scalability) at a fraction of the costs of traditional on-premises. Tomorrow is the last day of AWS re:Invent and if you didn’t get the chance to visit the Druva booth #1039, be sure to stop by and hear from our experts about our cloud-native data protection and management solutions. We hope to see you there!
