Advanced File-Level Encryption
SafePoint allows file-level encryption of critical data on your endpoints. Files and folders can be identified for backup and encryption by both, you and the user. Depending on the selection, encryption can be enabled for mandatory files or folders, user-defined files or folders, or all folders.
SafePoint leverages Windows’ Encrypting File System, to implement a 256-bit AES encryption of files on your NTFS volumes (Windows XP machines and later).
Centralized Encryption Policies
Configuring SafePoint is simple through the inSync admin dashboard. Admins can identify the files and folders to be encrypted by using the same backup policies that are currently in place to get started quickly Encryption policies can be setup for group or individual endpoints. Additional exclude filters for encryption can be applied, if needed.
Transparent to Users
SafePoint’s unobtrusive; thin-client software is installed within inSync’s client agent, with no user interaction required and has no effect on device operation or performance. Encryption and decryption are automated, with no additional steps or passwords needed. Backups continue to remain non-disruptive and transparent to users.
