Encryption
File-level Encryption of Critical Data on Your Devices
SafePoint provides file-level encryption of the critical data on your endpoint devices by leveraging Windows’ Encrypting File System, which implements a 256-bit AES encryption of files on your NTFS volumes (Windows XP machines and later). The same policy that you use to identify files and folders on devices to be backed up are used to identify the files and folders that will be encrypted as a starting point. Additional exclude filters for encryption can be applied if needed. Encryption and decryption is completely transparent to end-users, requiring no additional steps or passwords.
Highlights
- File-level Encryption with 256-bit AES
- Centralized Encryption Policy
- Transparent to users
Data Delete
Remote or Auto Data wipe-out from a lost or stolen device
When a device is lost or stolen, an administrator can “decommission” the device to delete all critical data from the device as soon as it comes online. Optionally, a time-based auto delete trigger can be configured for each device, so the device can automatically wipe it’s data if it hasn’t connected with the inSync server for a specified number of days. Regular alerts can notify the administrator of impending deletes. SafePoint’s data delete operations meets NSA security standards.
Highlights
- Remote Decommission
- Auto Decommission
- Time-based alerts
Device Trace
Geo-location accuracy for enabled endpoints
As a theft deterrent, SafePoint can determine the exact location of devices for enabled endpoints. It employs a software engine that collects data from Wi-Fi access points, GPS satellites and cell towers using advanced hybrid positioning algorithms. The location of enabled devices can be easily viewed by the administrator on an interactive Google map on the inSync dashboard.
Highlights
- Geo-location
- Google maps mash-ups
- Software based engine
Seamless Integration
Add-on module to inSync providing multilayered endpoint protection
SafePoint seamlessly integrates with Druva inSync as an optional, add-on module. Centrally configured and administered within inSync, it provides a multi-layered protection to individual, remote endpoints.
Highlights
- Add-on module to inSync, no further installs
- Separately licensed
- Backup and DLP policies managed by a centralized administration console
