Easy Server Configuration
inSync is easy to configure. A configuration wizard walks the IT admin through a series of simple steps such as storage, admin, user, and email configuration. At the end of the simple configuration process, the IT admin will have initiated the first backup on inSync.
Pre-Configured User Profiles
With inSync’s user profiles, it’s easy to create policies for backup and restore and to apply those policies to groups of users. There’s a default user profile provided out of the box, and creating new user profiles takes only a few minutes. Tight AD/LDAP integration and periodic synchronization enable mass user import and provisioning, and mapping of AD/LDAP groups to inSync profiles.
1-Click Folder & Email Setup
1-Click email & folder configuration helps administrators set up backup for commonly used email content, data sources such as Desktop, My Documents etc. Admins can specify a rich set of file inclusion and exclusion criteria for each configured folder, specify backup options such as mandatory or optional, and specify global exclusion criteria for backups. With a single click, they can also configure email content such as Outlook PST or Apple Mail files for backup.
Convenient Backup Scheduling
inSync’s opportunistic scheduling approach allows backups to be scheduled when it’s most convenient for users. The inSync agent delays the first backup of the day by 10 minutes after a user logs in to ensure that the user is not disturbed when starting to work. Backups that miss the scheduled windows are automatically resumed when bandwidth becomes available again.
Mass Client Deployment
inSync solves the enterprise deployment challenge with a mass client deployment feature that leverages utilities such as Active Directory, Microsoft SCCM and Casper (JAMF software). With the mass deployment feature, organizations can quickly and easily deploy inSync to users without requiring their involvement.
Automatic Client Upgrades
inSync makes it simple to deploy clients to multiple devices (using Active Directory or otherwise) and to have the clients upgrade automatically when there’s a new version of an application. The cost of managing upgrades is minimal.
