Pallavolo Modena - A1 italian volleyball team

Abstract
"Volley is a sport based on statistics and statistics are based on laptop computers.
The goal is to be sure to have quickly and easily data in any time and any place in case of crashes, despite what Murphy's law teaches... That's why we chose Druva inSync."

Business Case
Volleyball has changed in the last 20 years, and the strategies of every match are based on a lot of data and statistics collected during the past games. The team managers, marketing and sales personals always carry this valuable data with them while traveling throughout Europe.
The action packed events often expose the data to high risks. A similar situation happened sometime back when an important laptop was hit by the ball!
Since the team is travelling continuously, using laptops in stadium and gym, the goal is to simplify the backup and restore as much as possible. The solution should also guarantee easy access to data if needed, even over mobile connections (HDSPA or UMTS).
Druva inSync Deployment and Results
InSync completely automated the laptop backup on VPN. Simple interface helped adoption and the data deduplication technology reduced the overheads, making backups almost invisible. WAN Optimization and opportunistic scheduling helps to reduce the impact during the daily activities, even during week end when laptops are often in use due to championship matches.
